Bedrooms

Picture
The Lancaster Bed

The physician father of Henry & Charles Greene, Dr. Thomas Greene, extolled the outdoor virtues of sunshine & fresh air and impressed the same on his two sons. The headboard live oak silhouette pays homage to Dr. Greene.

The headboard top rail is reminiscent of the truss above the Gamble House inglenook and the graceful live oak tree silhouette pleases your eye. Polished Gaboon ebony is used sparingly to provide a fine sense of detail without being distracting. The queen version is shown in African mahogany.

The Hooper Bedroom

The Hooper family of pieces is a modified Stickley design who's roots lie in the distinctive "Glasgow School" style made famous by architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife artist Margaret McDonald in the 1890s. Subtly  angled vertical surfaces combined with extended horizontal lines give it a clean, unencumbered visual appearance while still appearing solidly anchored to the ground.
Picture

The pieces show gracefully counter-tapered legs and highly-arched bottom stretchers which give them a "light on their feet" feel. Combining with the lighter-colored drawer fronts makes these pieces quite stunning.

The Penawawa Bedroom Series

The master dresser and tall chest of our latest bedroom furniture design joins our Almota and Wilcox series. This series is heavily influenced by the works of the Roycrofters, a reformist community of arts & crafts tradesmen located in upstate New York, circa 1895, and Harvey Ellis, a well regarded designer of the time. We've combined through-tenons, post and rail backstops, and arched toe kicks with the traditional reliefs and flush-front drawers of the craftsman genre. These two pieces are the first of the line. Matching king and queen beds and night stands are available as well.
